Outlook Emails as References in Copilot Notebooks

You can now add Outlook emails as knowledge sources in a Copilot Notebook, alongside files.

Details

Notebooks previously accepted only files and documents as references, so email context had to be pasted in by hand
Added through Add content, then choosing Outlook emails and picking the relevant threads
Emails then feed downstream outputs generated from the notebook, such as presentations and briefs
Available on Windows and Web across Microsoft 365. Roadmap ID 564910

Grounding a notebook in the email threads where a project's decisions were actually made.

When to use it

The context Copilot needs lives in a thread, not in a document, and outputs keep coming back generic.
