Claude Memory Across Chat and Cowork

Claude now carries one memory across Claude chat and Claude Cowork, and you can read, edit, or delete anything it saved.

Memory saves topics as you chat instead of summarizing after a conversation ends, so context from a chat is available in Cowork right away
Everything Claude remembers appears as a list of topics in Memory settings where you can read, edit, or delete individual items, and you can say remember this to save something on the spot
Health, religion, race, ethnicity, gender identity, and similar subjects are left out by default. You can opt in to include them, and Claude tells you each time it saves one
Claude refuses to store Social Security numbers, government IDs, criminal history, and immigration status even with sensitive memories turned on
On by default for Free, Pro, and Max across web, desktop, and mobile. Team and Enterprise admins control availability and individual users opt in. iOS and Android need the latest app update
