Claude Ultra Plan
Anthropic renamed Max 20x to Ultra and is removing the 5-hour usage limit for verified Ultra subscribers.
Details
- Max 5x is now called Max and Max 20x is now called Ultra. Prices are unchanged at $100 and $200 a month, and existing subscribers do not need to do anything.
- Verified Ultra accounts no longer have the 5-hour limit, starting with most existing subscribers on October 30, 2026.
- Newer accounts keep a temporary 5-hour limit until they are verified, which Anthropic says is there to prevent fraud and abuse. You get an email when it is lifted.
- Weekly limits stay the same, so the change removes the short-window cap, not the overall weekly allowance.
Best for
Heavy Claude users who kept hitting the 5-hour cap during long working sessions.
When to use it
Your work stalls mid-afternoon on the rolling limit and you need one long uninterrupted block.
Who benefits
Power users and builders on the $200 plan running long Claude Code or Cowork sessions.
