Computer History in the ChatGPT Desktop App

An opt-in Mac setting that turns what you do across your apps and websites into memories ChatGPT and Codex can use.

Records the interaction events macOS exposes through accessibility: clicks, typing, keyboard shortcuts, and switching between apps
Does not capture screenshots, screen recordings, microphone input, system audio, or private browsing activity
Events sit on the Mac for up to 48 hours, get processed on OpenAI servers into plain-text memory files stored locally, and are not kept after processing or used for training
Off by default. Turn it on under Settings then Integrations, and choose which sources feed it
Codex reads the same history to pick up where you left off and suggest skills or scheduled tasks for work you repeat
Rolling out globally to Pro, Business, and Enterprise, with the EEA, UK, and Switzerland to follow
