Copilot Cowork Local Edge Browser Use

Copilot Cowork can now drive your own Microsoft Edge browser to finish the web steps in a task, including on sites you're already signed in to.

  • Cowork opens a separate Edge tab on your device to navigate pages, gather information, fill in forms, and complete supported actions while you follow along in the Cowork conversation
  • Because it uses your local Edge session, it can reach sites you're already signed in to; passwords, cookies, and session data stay on your device
  • Cowork stops for your input or approval when needed, and you can take over at any point
  • Your organization's existing browser, identity, and data protection policies still apply; start it from Cowork on the web in Edge

Best for

Multi-step tasks that include web work, like gathering information from a site or filling in a form.

When to use it

A Cowork task stalls because one of its steps lives on a website rather than in Microsoft 365.

Who benefits

Microsoft 365 Copilot users who delegate routine web-based admin work.
