Copilot Node in Copilot Studio Workflows (Preview)

Copilot Studio workflows can now run Copilot Chat, call agents like Researcher and Analyst, or hand off a Cowork task as one automated step, for Copilot Studio builders.

Details

The step runs as the Microsoft 365 user you connect, so it can draw on that person's email, files, calendar, and chats. Whatever that user can see, the workflow can use
Chat mode sends a prompt to Copilot or to a specific agent: Microsoft's Researcher or Analyst, or an agent your team built in Agent Builder
Cowork mode starts a new Cowork task or picks up an existing one, for work that spans several apps and files
Values from earlier steps can be dropped into the prompt, and the response can feed later steps like an email, a Teams post, or a SharePoint list item
In preview, for workflows on Copilot Studio's newer GitHub Copilot-based engine. Usage, including Cowork tasks, consumes Copilot Credits

Best for

Automations that need Copilot to research, summarize, or draft something partway through a process, then pass the result on.

When to use it

A recurring process already starts from a trigger, like a new lead or an incoming email, and a person still does the reading and writing step by hand.
