OpenAIapiDecisions API (Generally Available)
OpenAI's API for quick yes/no, pick-one, and scoring calls on text and images is out of beta, with new voice, caching, and structured-input support.
Details
- Returns a decision about text or images, such as a classification or an evaluation, without generating a full written response
- OpenAI says it decides up to 10x faster than running GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API
- New since the October beta: works directly with GPT-Live so voice apps can react while someone is still speaking
- Also new: prompt caching to cut costs when you reuse the same context, and the option to pass structured app data in as JSON
- Generally available to developers on the OpenAI API
