  • The model listens while it speaks, so callers can interrupt the way they would with a person
  • Hands deeper reasoning and tool calls to a backend model you choose, such as GPT-6 Astra, which is billed separately
  • Costs $0.05 per minute of voice session, billed per second
  • Launches with 12 voices across accents, dialects, and languages. Custom voices require contacting OpenAI sales
  • Takes audio and text in and out, with no image or video. Not available on the free API tier
