Graceful Wrap-Up at the Claude Code 5-Hour Limit

Small update for Claude Code users: hitting your 5-hour usage limit mid-task now lets Claude stop at a clean point instead of cutting off mid-edit.

Details

Before this, reaching the 5-hour limit could stop Claude in the middle of an edit, leaving files partly changed
Claude now looks for a sensible stopping point and finishes what it can before pausing
The wrap-up runs on a small, fixed allowance taken from your weekly limit, so it is not extra free usage

Best for

Long build or coding sessions that run right up against your usage cap.

When to use it

Nothing to turn on. It kicks in automatically when a session reaches the 5-hour limit partway through a task.

Who benefits

Claude Code users who regularly hit their 5-hour limit and have come back to half-finished edits.
