- The standard moved from an always-on two-way connection to a plain request-and-response model, so connectors can run on cheap serverless hosting
- Interactive interfaces and long-running background jobs now ship as versioned add-ons instead of requiring changes to the core standard
- Sign-in now follows standard OAuth 2.0 and OIDC, so connectors plug into company identity systems like Entra and Okta
- Claude's connectors directory now lists more than 950 connectors
- Support is rolling out across Claude products, and existing connector builders can submit to the directory
