No Repository Option for Claude Code Cloud Sessions

Small update for Claude Code users: a cloud session on an Anthropic-hosted environment can now start without picking a code repository first.

Details

  • Starting a cloud session used to mean choosing a repository. There is now a No repository option.
  • It applies to cloud sessions on Anthropic-hosted environments.
  • Shipped in Claude Code version 2.1.318.

Best for

Cloud tasks that don't start from an existing codebase.

When to use it

You want to run a session in the cloud and have no repository to attach to it.

Who benefits

Claude Code users who work outside a codebase, including people who are not developers.
