SynthID Detector (Open to Everyone)

Anyone can now upload an image, video, or audio file at synthid.com to check whether it carries Google's invisible AI-generated tag.

SynthID is an invisible tag Google adds to content made by its AI tools. The detector checks uploaded files for that tag
Recognizes content from Google and from partners that use SynthID, including OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Kakao, with Apple listed as coming soon
The portal was previously limited to a waitlist of journalists and researchers
It checks for the SynthID tag specifically, so it tells you whether a SynthID tool made the file, not whether any AI was involved
The same check is already built into Google Search and the Gemini app
