Comparing AI tools: FAQ

> who made this

Hi, I'm Riley. I spent a decade doing marketing strategy for Disney Parks and Macy's, and the last two years learning everything I could about AI and teaching others what I learn. I built this to help you find the features you're not using yet.

Which AI tool should I use for this task?

Pick the tools you have, answer five questions about the task, and the finder ranks the best features across all of them in one list. Star the tool you use most, and when two tools fit equally well, it goes first.

Why do I see more than one best fit?

Because the tools often have the same feature. Chat, projects, skills and scheduled tasks exist on most of them and fit the same jobs. When features from different tools fit your answers equally well, they all show as Best fit, so you can stay in the tool you already use.

What's the ChatGPT or Copilot equivalent of Claude Skills?

ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok all have skills that save your method for a task. Gemini's replace Gems and are rolling out through mid-November 2026, and Microsoft started rolling out skills in Copilot Chat in October 2026. Projects work the same way across ChatGPT, Claude and Grok; in Copilot they're called Notebooks, and in Gemini the closest is Gemini Notebook, which answers from the sources you add.

Which AI tools can run a task on a schedule?

All five. ChatGPT and Claude have scheduled tasks, Gemini has scheduled actions, Copilot has scheduled prompts and Grok has Automations. ChatGPT's, Claude's and Copilot's need a paid plan. For a job with several steps across your tools, look at agents instead, like ChatGPT workspace agents or Grok Bot.

Which AI works inside Outlook, Gmail or Word?

Copilot is built into Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Gemini is built into Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Meet. ChatGPT, Claude and Grok add a side panel to Word, Excel and PowerPoint through add-ins, and Claude and Grok also have one for Outlook. Add-ins usually need your admin's OK at work.

Is ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot better for work?

Usually whichever one your company already pays for is enough. They all have similar features and keep adding more. Learn the features in your platform first, and once you've made the most of it, look elsewhere if you find gaps.

Why is my team only using AI for the basics?

Most people don't know everything their tools can do, or how to set them up for their work, so they stay in the chat box. Projects, skills, scheduled tasks and agents do a lot more, on the plans most teams already have. Chasing Next creates custom programs that help teams get more out of their tools, with everyone building workflows for their own work. See how it works →
